The American Red Fox as the name suggests has rusty reddish-brown fur. Their long, bushy tail, known as a ‘brush’ or ‘sweep’ is often tipped with white fur and the backs of the ears are black, as are part of the legs. They have white underparts.

Love them or hate them they are a very cunning predator and if you grew up on a farm or walking in the woods it was a rare treat to see one of these anywhere.
